Welcome to Latino Tech-Net!
Latino Tech-Net is an initiative bringing together 12 non-profit organizations from 11 cities with the goal of providing computer access and bilingual computer training to low-and-moderate income Latinos with an emphasis on Latino entrepreneurs.
Projected Results by 2013:
- Create more than 2,100 jobs
- Train 15,000 individuals
- Reach 45,000 individuals through open lab access
Latino Tech-Net is led by San Francisco-based Mission Economic Development Agency (MEDA) in collaboration with the National Association for Latino Community Asset Builders (NALCAB), a San Antonio national nonprofit. All of Latino Tech-net partners are members of NALCAB. 17 public computer centers with over 300 workstations have so far been equipped.
Primary Goals:
Increase broadband and technology usage by low-and-moderate income Latino families
Provide customized bilingual computer training to help entrepreneurs establish and expand businesses in order to create jobs
